Colorado- Mildred V. Deedrick, 95, died Friday March 23, 2007 at her home in Durango, Colorado.
Born on March 5, 1912, in Wamego, Kansas, she was the daughter of Edgar and Lenora (Ott) Forrester. She attended Wamego schools and later graduated from Kansas State University with a teaching degree. On January 18, 1942, she married Archie Deedrick in Topeka, Kansas. Of this union, four children were born, John, Mary, Robert and Marjorie. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1982. Mildred was a member of the Senior Citizens Center in Durango. She played and taught tennis lessons up until five years ago.
Her survivors include: Her sons, John W. Deedrick and wife Connie of Topeka, KS, and Robert Deedrick of Durango, CO; her daughter Mary Daniel and husband Bill of Beaumont, CA; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Deedrick on February 25, 1973, a brother, Chester Forrester, and a sister Beulah Forrester.
Funeral Services will be Friday, March 30th, 2007 at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego with burial following in Wamego Cemetery. A visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:30-7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in Mildred’s name for the Wamego Historical Museum and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 48, Wamego, Kansas, 66547.
