Barbara Ann “Bobby Ann” Glover, 63, of St. George, Kansas, passed away following a long battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at her home in St. George, Kansas.
Barbara was born on November 30, 1947 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Benjamin and Wanda (Swick) Walker. She obtained her GED from Manhattan, Kansas before graduating from Washburn University, in Topeka, Kansas. She married Charles “Chuck” Glover on January 17, 1970 in Cameron, West Virginia. They lived in Leonardville, Kansas for 22 years before moving to St. George in 1991.
She was a medical health information tech for nearly 30 years working for St. Marys Regional Hospital and the now Mercy Regional Hospital in Manhattan, KS before working for Heartland Anesthesia of Manhattan office at Medical Associates of Manhattan. Barbara enjoyed arts and crafts and riding in the semi with Chuck. She enjoyed being around and helping others and loved to go camping. She also enjoyed K-State football and Iowa Hawkeyes football. She was a member of the Manhattan Baptist Church in Manhattan, KS.
Barbara is survived by her husband Charles Glover, of their home in St. George; her son, Richard Howard, of Danville, Illinois; her mother, Wanda Martin, of Muscatine, Iowa; 2 granddaughters, Brittany and Danielle Jo Howard; 2 sisters, Kathleen Robertson and husband David of Manhattan, KS and Nancy Nanninga and husband Don of Leonardville, KS and 1 brother, David Walker of Manhattan, KS. She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin and her son Carroll Eugene Glover in 2009.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Barbara will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Manhattan Baptist Church in Manhattan.
