Henry Dale Pooler

Henry “Dale” Pooler, 87, of Overland Park, formerly of Wamego, passed away early Tuesday morning April 17, 2007 at the Overland Park Manor. Dale was born August 12, 1919 the son of Henry and Caroline (Cain) Pooler in Abilene, Kansas, where he later graduated and joined the United States Army. After serving eighteen months, Dale hopped a train to Arkansas and married the love of his life, Jimmie R. Rowland on November 14, 1945. The couple made their home in Wamego and owned and operated Dale’s Market for twenty years. Jimmie preceded him in death on December 24, 2006 after 61 years of marriage. He is survived by: his daughter, Pamela Ackley and husband Jimmie of Louisville, KY; his son, Michael Pooler and wife Lynn of Stilwell, KS; his sister, Jeanne Cavendar of Colorado; four granddaughters, one grandson, and eight great-grandsons. Graveside Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday April 21 at Wamego City Cemetery. A visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Home.
