Wayne Lee White, 59, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan, Kansas.
Wayne was born in Sanford, Maine, on November 21, 1951, the son of Hayes and Anna (Bobchic) White. Wayne grew up and attended schools in Sanford, graduating from Sanford High School in 1969 before enlisting in the United States Army. While in the Army Wayne was stationed at Ft. Riley. After his discharge he returned home to Maine until 1989 before moving back to the Manhattan area, where he lived up until his death.
Wayne was a laborer and for the last twenty years was in the insulation and asbestos abatement businesses. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Mr. White is survived by his 2 daughters: Stephanie Baker, of Lawrence, KS and Anna White, of Manhattan, KS; 2 stepsons: Michael Nester and wife Arika, of Lenexa, KS and J.D. Dickson, of Lenexa, KS; 1 stepdaughter: Cindy Harris, of Manhattan, KS; 2 brothers: Garry White and wife Donna, of Springvale, Maine and Phillip White and wife Sherri, of Pennsylvania; 2 sisters: Carolyn Sweeney and the late Ronni, of Springvale, Maine and Betty Garey and her husband, of Florida; 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Lesa in 2010.
