Chong Suk Vanover, 63, of Manhattan, Kansas passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Mercy Regional Health Center of Manhattan.
Chong was born on December 22, 1947, in South Korea. In 1988, Chong married Victor Vanover in Junction City, Kansas, he survives. Chong came to Junction City, Kansas in 1976 from South Korea, before moving to Manhattan, Kansas in 1994. She was a homemaker and always enjoyed caring for her family.
Chong is survived by her husband: Victor Vanover, of Wamego, Kansas; her two daughters: Jin DeReis and husband Troy, of Lawton, Oklahoma and Lisa Mitchell, of Scottsdale, Arizona; one stepson: Earl Vanover and wife Margaret, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three grandchildren: Sophia, Landon and Hudson and four step-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and private services will be held at a later date. A memorial is suggested to the Chong Suk Vanover memorial fund and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 48, Wamego, 66547.
