Beverly Sandra Wege, 64, of the Wheaton and Westmoreland, Kansas areas passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Stoneybrook Retirement Community, in Manhattan, Kansas.
Beverly was born on July 16, 1947, in Wamego, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence and Cora Mae (Force) Wege. She grew up on the family farm in rural Wheaton, Kansas and lived there most of her life before moving to Westmoreland. She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1965.
Beverly ran her own arts and crafts business out of her home called “Horn of Plenty Craft” and wrote a column called Bev’s Kitchen Chatter for the Westmoreland Recorder. She served as a homemaker and belonged to the local CB Club. Beverly enjoyed reading and had a great sense of humor. She was a people person.
Beverly is survived by her stepfather: Harold Berg of Wheaton, Kansas; one sister: Belinda Berg of Manhattan, Kansas; one nephew: H. R. Lentz, of Denison, Kansas and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence, her mother Cora Mae and two sisters, Glenda and Judith.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Beverly’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at the Oregon Trail Apartments, in Westmoreland, KS. Inurnment will follow in the Wheaton Congregational Cemetery. There is no memorial.
