Harmon L. Orsborn, 87, passed away Nov. 15, 2010, in Sacramento, California.
Harmon was born in Wamego, Kansas, on June 21, 1923, to Lawrence and Charlotte Orsborn.
He joins his parents, sister Iris, and brother Lloyd. He leaves behind his brother Merle, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind an extended family he discovered while researching his genealogy, and many friends and neighbors.
Harmon graduated from Kansas State University where he was a charter member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He served as a weatherman aboard the aircraft carrier Wasp during World War II. He loved to fly his air coup, until he finally parked it in his garage.
A long time resident of Rancho Cordova, California, Harmon worked for Aero-Jet and then as a system analyst for the California Youth Authority until he retired in 1986. He enjoyed his work as a DJ for various dance clubs and functions in the Sacramento area for years before and after retirement.
Inurnment will be in the Wamego City Cemetery, Wamego, Kansas. A private graveside memorial service will be held at the cemetery at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 10, 2011.
