Ann Gould

Ann Gould, 94, died July 9, 2007, at Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center, Wamego. She was born June 15, 1913 in New York City, the daughter of Stephen and Maria Styslowsky. At 9 years old she moved with her Parents & 3 siblings to a farm in Schoharie County, NY and graduated from Schoharie High School. After graduation she moved to Albany, NY where she met and married Theodore Gould on Sept. 16, 1933. She was a homemaker for many years, raising four children, and later owned and operated a Tastee Freeze Ice Cream store. She was active in her church and took up downhill skiing with her husband when they were in their forties. Upon her husband’s retirement from the railroad they moved to Sun City AZ where they lived for 30 years. She moved to Gran Villas Assisted Living in Wamego in 2004 to be closer to her daughter. Ann is survived in Wamego by her daughter Diane Pikul and husband Richard, granddaughter Jennifer Schermerhorn, husband Thomas and family. Other surviving children are: Ronald Gould and wife Anita of Sun City AZ, Richard Gould and wife Christine of Fort Collins CO, and Theodore Gould and wife Dawn of Fort Collins, CO; one sister Helen Skiba and husband John of Westerville, OH; plus 8 grandchildren: Clayton Gould, Jennifer Schermerhorn, Suzette Alexander, Kimberly Pikul, Stephen Gould, Aubree Gould, Reina Gould, & Keifer Gould; and 8 great-grandchildren. Private inurnment will be in Sun City, AZ. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center, Wamego or to Heart of America Hospice, Topeka. Local arrangements are by Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego, KS.
