Michael “Bo” Ervin Bussart, 62, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center, in Wamego. Bo was born August 10, 1949 in Manhattan, Kansas. He was the son of Ervin and Ruth Ann (Kelly) Bussart Bridgewater. Bo married Gloria J. Shockley on July 2, 1983 in Wichita, Kansas, she survives of Wamego.
Bo attended St. Bernard’s Catholic Grade School before graduating from Wamego High School in 1968. After high school Bo enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he served until his honorable discharge in 1972. After his service in the Marines, Bo worked at the Manhattan Meat Company for about 10 years. Following that he worked for Manhattan Tent and Awning for several years before moving to Topeka and working for the Payless Shoe Company for 15 years, all before returning to Wamego in 2008. Bo was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles; Manhattan Chapter.
Bo is also survived by his mother: Ruth Bridgewater and stepfather Larry of Topeka, Kansas; two sisters: Kathy Bracken and husband Louis, of Wamego and Debbie Tinsley and husband Gerald of Topeka, Kansas; one brother Erv Bussart, Jr. and wife Debbie of Shrevport, Louisana; one stepdaughter: Trisha Sides and husband Lonnie of Topeka, Kansas; two step-grandchildren: Christopher and Gary Sides and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Erv Bussart, Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. Bussart will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Wamego with Military Honors. The family will greet friends during a visitation on Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center-Chapel Building Fund and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, PO Box 48, 66547.
