Marcus Lee Teske

Marcus Lee Teske, 56, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan after his battle with cancer. Marcus was born January 17, 1955 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Sheldon and Norma (Osburn) Teske. He grew up in Topeka graduating from Highland Park High School. For over 30 years Marcus worked for Westar as a lineman until recently becoming a line foreman all before becoming ill. During his work for Westar he lived in Topeka before moving to St Marys where he lived for 10 years all before moving to Manhattan where he lived for the last 15 years. In January of this year he married Joan “Joany” Anderson in Topeka, Kansas. She survives of the home. Marcus was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #304 of Topeka. He loved muscle cars and enjoyed going boating and camping. He loved spending time with his kids, family and friends. Marcus is also survived by his parents, Sheldon and Norma Teske of Topeka, KS; two daughters: Amanda Gunter and husband Wade of Lawrence, KS and Audra Teske of Wichita, KS; one son: Adam Teske of Manhattan, KS; two stepchildren; three brothers: Jeff Teske, Brian Teske and wife Melanie and Jay Teske all of Topeka, KS and one grandson: Jasper. Cremation has taken affect. A memorial service for Marcus will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego with Pastor Jol Klein officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Marcus Teske Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego; PO Box 48, 66547.
