Locus Grove, Virginia- Susan Annette Neal, 47, died Wednesday Aug. 1, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg Virginia following an extended illness. Born on November 13, 1959 in Topeka, Kansas, she was the daughter of Norma and Larry Huston. She attended Wamego schools and later graduated from Manhattan High School. In 1976, Susan had a son, Benjamin James Huston. In 1977, she married Gene Oswalt and from this union two daughters were born, Brandi Michelle and Billie Jo. The couple later divorced. Later on Susan met and married Joseph Alan Neal. The couple raised a son, Joshua Shane Sturgill. Susan and Joe shared twenty one years together. Susan is survived by: her mother, Norma Jean Huston; her husband Joseph Alan Neal; her children, Benjamin James Huston, Brandi Michelle Olinger, and Billie Jo Oswalt; her step children, Summer, Lynn, and Joshua; her brothers Rodney and Dennis Huston; her two sisters, Lisa Huston and Dana Zellers; her fifteen grandchildren; her twelve nieces, Catie, Ladesca, Melissa (Sissy), Melany, Jennifer, Mindy, Jessie, Taylor, Lori, Candice, Lakoda, and Alisa; her six nephews, Matt, Jonathon, Michael, Drake, Bradley and Zach; and she leaves behind many other loving family members and friends. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Larry, and a sister Lori Dale Huston. A memorial service will be held Tuesday August 7, at 1:00 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Private inurnment will be held at a later date. A memorial gathering of friends and family will be Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
