Irma M. Niedfeldt

Wamego- Irma M. Niedfeldt, 81, passed away early Tuesday morning August 7, at Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center in Wamego. Born on March 13, 1926, in Paxico, Kansas, she was the daughter of Peter L. and Mabel (Hankins) Woody. She attended and later graduated from Paxico High School. On February 3, 1946, she married Raymund John Niedfeldt at Wells Creek united Church of Christ in Belvue. Of this union seven children were born: Ervin, Diane, Dale, Pam, Alice, Jean and Lisa. Raymund passed away on March 6, 1975. On January 17, 1977, Irma married Ernest Niedfeldt at Wells Creek United Church of Christ. Ernest preceded her in death shortly before their tenth anniversary. Irma was a member of the Wells Creek United Church of Christ, The Wells Creek Dorcas Circle, Wells Creek Community Card Club, The Snokomo Silent Workers Club, Kaw Valley Social Club and Kaw Valley Heritage Club. Her survivors include: her sons, Ervin Niedfeldt and wife Kathy of Belvue, KS, and Dale Niedfeldt and wife Nancy of Wamego, KS; her daughters, Diane Gaylord and husband Ned of Bosque Farms, NM, Pam Rowe and husband Ed of Wamego, KS, Alice Niedfeldt of Wamego, Ks, Jean Rook and husband John of Liberty, MO, and Lisa Tessendorf and husband Rex of Topeka, KS; her brother Elmer Woody of Paxico; her 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her husbands, Irma was preceded in death by a grandson Ronnie Roudybush. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday morning August 10, at Wells Creek United Church of Christ near Belvue with burial following in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Niedfeldt will lie in state on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego with visitation following from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Memorials have been designated in Irma’s name for Valley Vista Good Samaritan Resident Entertainment Fund or Wells Creek United Church of Christ and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home P.O.
