Camryn Leena Rose

Camryn Leena Rose, just 18 days old, of Manhattan, KS passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Stormont-Vail HealthCare in Topeka, KS. Camryn Leena was born 12 weeks premature on February 18, 2012 in Manhattan, KS weighing just 2 lbs. 9 oz. and measuring 15 inches long. She was the loving daughter of Craig Austin Rose and his fiance’ Ashley LouAnn Garetson, they both survive of Manhattan. Camryn loved the sound of her mommy and daddy’s voices. She was a fighter and had a fake cry that would melt your heart. She loved being read and sang to. She had a way of winning over anyone she met, she made not only her family but the staff at the NICU fall in love with her. Her smile lit up the room and you couldn’t help but smile if she smiled. Among her parents, Camryn Leena is also survived by her maternal grandparents: John and April (Bitzer) Garetson, of Wamego, KS; paternal grandparents: Craig and Cindy Rose, of Murphysboro, IL; her sister: Alexys Rose, of Murphysboro, IL; one uncle: John Derek Garetson, of Topeka, KS; and two great-grandmothers: Ann Bitzer of Garden City, KS and Mary Wright of Murphysboro, IL. She was preceded in death by four great-grandfathers: Eugene Bitzer, John Garetson, Austin Wright and Charles Rose and two great-grandmothers: Louise Garetson and Eva Jean Rose. Cremation has taken effect. Family is inviting everyone to a gathering to celebrate Camryn Leena’s life on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego for a visitation. A memorial service for Camryn will follow at 11:00 a.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. They are asking that everyone wear bright colors to celebrate Camryn’s life. Memorials are suggested to the Camryn Leena MVP Foundation; to be established towards the NICU at Stormont-Vail HealthCare in Topeka and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
