Frances Beryl Reigle, 82, of Wamego, KS, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the Westy Community Care Home in Westmoreland, KS. Frances was born at Darlow, KS, March 29, 1925, the daughter of Clarence A. and Bertha M. (Hornbaker) Rundell. She attended Rural Zion Grade School near Darlow and attended her first year of high school at Castleton, KS, then moved to Halstead, KS, graduating from Halstead High School in 1943. Following graduation, she became employed by Boeing Aircraft Co. in Wichita, KS and later moved to Richmond, CA, where she was employed by Rheem Mfg. Most of her career, she worked in secretarial positions while employed at Guth Family Insurance of Wamego, Gross Insurance of Manhattan, Balderson Inc. of Wamego, and also at Wamego High School. On May 28, 1945, Frances married Harold A. Reigle in Batavia, NY. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2007. They had lived in Wamego since 1964. Frances enjoyed helping with her church activities, including being a Sunday School Teacher, playing the piano in McPherson and Manhattan Church’s of God, and while her husband, Harold, served as pastor at the Beecher Bible and Rifle Church in Wabaunsee, she played the piano. She also liked to sew, crochet, and enjoyed camping and fishing, as well as family gatherings and events. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Funk and her husband Doug, of Berryton, KS, Pat Hatfield and husband Jerry, of Ames, IA; two sons, Steve Reigle and his wife, Vicki, of Sioux Falls, SD, Rick Reigle and wife Sandy, of Belvue, KS; one sister, Talitha Bachman, Arizona; two brothers, Eldon and Don Rundell, both of California; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services for Mrs. Reigle will be held Friday, October 5, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Burial will follow in Wamego City Cemetery. She will lie in-state beginning at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends during a visitation from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Westy Community Care Home, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 48, 66547.
