Memorial services for Teresa Ann (William) Bestvater, 50, of Alma, KS and formerly of St. George, KS, who died October 13, 2007 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Inurnment services will follow in St. George Cemetery.
She was born July 24, 1957 in Manhattan, KS, the daughter of Roger and Donna B. (Tessendorf) William. She graduated from St. George High School in 1975 and attended Manhattan Area Technical College where she received her Accounting Certificate. She worked as a clerk at the Manhattan Water Department from 1993 to 1997, Sykes in Manhattan in the Human Resource Dept. from 1998 until 2004, and then worked for the Crisis Center of Manhattan as a clerk until 2006.
On May 15, 2004, she married Stan J. Bestvater in St. George. He survives of the home.
She was a very loving person and was very active with her grandchildren. She volunteered as a Black Jack 4-H Leader for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, researching the family genealogy, collecting anything with sunflowers on it, and was very active in planning the St. George School Alumni Reunion.
Other survivors include her parents, Roger and Donna William of St. George, KS; a son, Dusty Caddell and his wife, Martha, of Tualatin, Oregon: a daughter, Dee Ann Johnson, of St. George, KS; two brothers, Mike William and wife, Teresa, of Manhattan, KS and Scott William, of St. George, KS; five grandchildren and a niece and nephew.
