WAMEGO- Grace Virginia Morris, 84, of the Wamego and Louisville, KS area, died early Tuesday, October16, 2007 at Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center in Wamego.
She was born on February 10, 1923 in Manhattan, KS, the daughter of Orville C. Creviston, Sr. and Hallie L. (Cinnamon) Creviston. She graduated from Manhattan High School in 1940.
On June 7, 1941, Grace married Max E. Morris, Sr. in Manhattan, KS. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1979.
Grace was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego. She enjoyed traveling, going with her friends to the area casinos, shopping with her friends, and growing flowers and plants. She was an avid reader and was always reading a book. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her 10 children and their spouses; Sharon Foster, of Louisville, KS, Max Morris, Jr. and wife Doris, of Wamego, KS, Janie Shelton and husband Rick, of Richmond, VA, Frankie Morris, Canyon Lake, TX, John Morris, Nevada, MO, Tim Morris, Chicago, IL, Debbie Harvey, Wamego, KS, Sherman Morris and wife Cathy, of Wamego, KS, Bea Morris, of Louisville, KS, Jeremiah Morris and his wife Christy, of Eudora, KS; three brothers, Orville Creviston, Jr., Kansas City, MO, Elmer Creviston, AR, Bobby Joe Creviston, of Maryland; 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jim Creviston.
A Memorial Mass for Mrs. Morris will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 19, 2007 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego, with Fr. John Pilcher as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at the church on Thursday, October 18, at 7:00 p.m.. Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego is in charge of services.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the St. Bernard Church Building Fund, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 48, 66547.
