WAMEGO- Ronald E.” Ron” Noe, 52, of Wamego, KS, lost his battle with cancer on Saturday October 20th, 2007 at Wamego City Hospital. Ron was born on August 27, 1955 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of June (Hicks) and Grover C. Noe. His family returned to Kansas and he attended and graduated from Manhattan High School in 1974. He had lived in Wamego since 1978. On January 19, 1997, Ron married the love of his life, Joni Anne Kendall in Honolulu, Hawaii. In his earlier years, Ron proudly served his country on the USS Kitty Hawk with the United States Navy. From 1992-2004 he worked at Raney Pest Control as a service tech. He and Joni have owned and operated Black Jack Hills Restaurant and entertainment area since 2004. Ron loved music, and played the drums in the band “Crosswind” for many years. Survivors include his wife, Joni, of Wamego, KS; his two children, Jessica Noe, Manhattan, KS, and Justin Noe, Alva, OK; his mother, June Noe, of Manhattan, KS; three step-children, Cole Hutchinson, Hartford, CT, Tyson, and Cade Hutchinson, both of Wamego, KS; a sister, Sheri McGathy, Manhattan, KS; and one granddaughter, Olivia Hedke. He was preceded in death by his father, Grover C. Noe. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and celebration of life for Ron will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Black Jack Hills Restaurant, located west of Wamego. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Wamego Community Health Ministry or to the Terry C. Johnson Center for Cancer Research at KSU, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, P.O. Box 48, 66547.
