Dorothy Mae (Huffman) Wege

Dorothy Mae (Huffman) Wege, 88, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away, Monday, September 3, 2012 at Midland Hospice House, in Topeka, Kansas. Dorothy was born October 4, 1923, in rural Westmoreland, Kansas, on the family farm. She was the daughter of Albert “Glenn” and Velma M. (Nossman) Huffman. She attended the Broderick Grade School. On March 28, 1949, Dorothy was united in marriage to Alvin Wege in Wamego. He preceded her in death in 1999. Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the Laclede Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, reading and doing word puzzles. She loved chocolate and sweets. Dorothy enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. Dorothy is survived by her sister: Thelma “Ann” Barrett of San Ramon, California and four nephews: Michael, Robert, Kevin and John. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother in-law: Bertrand. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Louisville Cemetery, Louisville, Kansas.
