Idell E. Woods, 81, formerly of Keyes, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 30, at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan.
Idell was born on December 16, 1925 in Beaver, Oklahoma the daughter of Robert and Florence (Cables) Huddleston. Idell attended school in Pueblo Colorado and later graduated from Centennial High School in Pueblo. On May 25, 1945 she married Francis E. “Woody” Woods in Raton, New Mexico. The couple shared 63 years together.
Idell was a member of the First Baptist Church in Keyes, Oklahoma for over 40 years and faithfully served the Lord as a Sunday school teacher there. Idell worshipped her Lord and Savior, loved her family and her church family and she will be dearly missed by all.
Her survivors include: her husband Francis E. “Woody” Woods of the home; her sons, David Woods and wife Sheryl of Ft. Worth, TX, and Doug Woods and wife Liz of Manhattan, KS; her sister, Anna Lee Hild of Pueblo, CO; her seven grandchildren, Kimberly Formby, Amber Woods, Jeff Kinzer, Amy Shue, Mindi Sturm, Mandi Barnes, and Misti Reid; and her fourteen great grandchildren. Idell was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda and her son-in-law Fred.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday November 2, 2007 at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego with burial following in Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan. The family will also hold a memorial service in her hometown of Keyes, Oklahoma at the First Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday November 3, 2007. There will be no visitation held prior to services but Mrs. Woods will lie in state at the funeral home on Thursday starting at 1:00 p.m. Memorials have been designated for Idell’s church, The First Baptist Church of Keyes, Oklahoma and contributions may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, P.O.
