Helen Marie Kaine

Helen Marie Kaine, 74, of Wamego, Kansas passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012, at the Westy Community Care Home, in Westmoreland, Kansas. Helen was born on July 29, 1938 in Wamego, Kansas the daughter of William Potts and Blanche (Huey) Kaine. She grew up and attended schools in Wamego graduating from Wamego High School. On March 12, 1973, she married John Huff in Miami, Oklahoma. They later divorced. Helen worked as a CNA for many years and several years at the St. Marys Senior Center. She was a member of the Kaw Valley Bank-Heritage Club, Wamego Senior Center and was a member of the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. She enjoyed traveling with her mother to different places. Helen is survived by one brother, Jack Kaine, of Mission Hills, KS; one nephew: William P. Kaine II and three nieces: Emily Kaine-Ryan, Ashley Kaine and Samantha Kaine. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Doug Kaine in 1979. A funeral service for Helen will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 14, 2012 at the Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego. Burial will follow in the Wamego City Cemetery. Helen will lie in-state at the funeral home on Thursday, from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to “Wamego Friends of the Park” and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS, 66547.
