February 21, 1933 — November 24, 2007

Janet (Larson) Robinson, 74, of Topeka, formerly of Wamego, died Saturday morning November 24th, due to a car accident in Kansas City. Born on February 21, 1933, in Wamego, she was the daughter of Neville T. and Marion (Kraft) Larson. She attended schools in Wamego and graduated from Wamego High School in 1951. She then went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in teaching from Kansas State University. She taught grade school in Clay Center and Ottawa for several years. She then taught at Potwin for a couple of years before settling in at Pauline Central Elementary in Topeka in 1985 until her retirement in 1997. On August 8, 1964, she married David Keith Robinson. From this union, three children were born, David, Michael, and Nancy. The couple later divorced. Janet loved and appreciated the state of Kansas and all of its beauty. She held many memberships: she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority at KSU, a purple pepster, P.E.O. of Topeka chapter HC, Columbian Theatre Board of Directors, ERC member, served as president of Stormont Vail Auxiliary, volunteered in Everybody Wins reading program, a member of CASA, and a member of the Presidents Club at KSU Foundation. She was a very proud fan of KSU athletics. Janet is survived by: her sons, David Robinson and fiancee Joellen Marquardt, of Pittsburg, KS, and Michael Robinson and wife Gina of Prairie Village, KS; her daughter, Nancy Robinson of Topeka, KS; her sisters, Ginger Kjolhede and husband Ted of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Marilyn Otto and husband Louis of Arlington, NE; her brother, Larry Larson of Traverse City, MI; her grandchildren, Grace, Reid, Alexis, and Laken; and her numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in Janet’s name for the Columbian Theatre Foundation or the C.A.S.A Foundation of Topeka.
