Cecilia Marie (Weixelman) Muckenthaler

Cecilia Marie (Weixelman) Muckenthaler, 84, of Kettering, Ohio, and formerly of the Wamego, Kansas area, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 in Ohio. Cecilia was born September 15, 1928, in Louisville, KS, the daughter of Antone and Marie (Eckert) Weixelman. She grew up in Louisville, Flush and Wamego, KS. After high school she obtained her Nursing degree at The Saint Mary’s Hospital, School of Nursing, in Manhattan, KS. Cecilia practiced nursing for the next 45 years in Houston, TX, Tulsa, OK, Racine, WI and Dayton, OH. She married George J. Muckenthaler on October 6, 1951, in Flush, KS. He preceded her in death in September of 2011. Cecilia is survived by her two sons: Stan Muckenthaler and wife Sue, of Wamego, KS and John Muckenthaler of Kettering, OH; one daughter: Theresa Garcia of Flower Mound, TX; four grandchildren: Angie, Mary, Joey and Katie and her siblings: Tony Novelly of Tulsa, OK, Bernie Weixelman of Blytheville, AR and Jim and Jill Weixelman of Louisville, KS. She was also preceded in death by five brothers: George, Louis, Paul, Dennis and Don and two sisters: Rita and Dorothy. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Flush, KS. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A rosary for Cecilia will be recited prior to the service, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family will proceed to the church from the funeral home a 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald Reagan Library, 40 Presidential Dr., Simi Valley, CA 93065, to The University of Dallas, 1845 E.
