Timothy “Tim” Joseph Eckstein, 57, of Wamego, Kansas passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at his home.
Tim was born in Marysville, Kansas on March 27, 1955, the son of George and Wanda (Wymore) Eckstein. He attended schools in Marysville and later attended Tennessee Temple and Chattanooga St, earning a machinist degree. Tim enlisted into the Air Force for four years before serving eight years in the National Guard. On August 24, 1974, Tim married Diane Pageler. She survives of the home.
Tim worked as a plumber for Kansas State University where he worked for 28 years before retiring in 2011. He was a lifetime NRA member and attended Trinity Baptist Church. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing, reading, watching football, woodworking and being outside. Most importantly he loved spending time with his friends and family.
Among Tim’s other survivors are his two sons: Brian Eckstein and wife Melissa, of Tonganoxie, KS and Nathanial Eckstein and wife Sarah, of Wamego, KS; one daughter: Sara Pullin and husband Chad, of Churchville, VA and four grandchildren: Ian, Aiden, Evan and Reese. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service for Tim will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego.
