Dorothy Gayle Foster, 80, of Manhattan died on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Village in Manhattan.
She was born on February 25, 1927, at Lafayette, Indiana, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Miller) Warren. Mrs. Foster graduated from high school in Cleveland, Ohio. She moved to the Manhattan area in 1966.
Dorothy married Harold Edwin Foster on June 9, 1945 at Cleveland, Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1985. Mrs. Foster was a homemaker, but always volunteered her time in the communities that she was a part of.
She is survived by one daughter, Gayle Willard and her husband, Lloyd, of St. George and one son, Paul Foster, of Boston, Massachusetts; grandchildren: Kirk Willard and wife Kim, and great granddaughter Savanna Willard of Olathe, Kansas and granddaughter Keeli Willard and her fiance, Christopher Henderson, of Manhattan.
Mrs. Foster was cremated and no services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Manhattan Public Library—Homebound Program, as she was always so fond of reading. Contributions may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, P.O. 48, 66547.
