Patrick “Pat” Carrol Ebert, 73, of Wamego, KS, passed away Thursday January 17, 2013 at the Westy Community Care Home, Westmoreland, KS.
Pat was born December 7, 1939 near Flush, Kansas, the son of Aloysius C. and Alexia A. (McCormick) Ebert. He attended Flush High School graduating in 1957. Pat served in the Army National Guard and was called to active duty during the Berlin Crisis. He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
Pat co-founded Ebert Construction Company in the late 50’s, and later owned and operated Pat’s Specialty. He enjoyed country music, NASCAR racing and sharing morning coffee with friends. His smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Pat is survived by two daughters: Kim Myer and husband Bob of Houston, TX, and Kelli Klauber and husband Adam of Chicago, IL; four grandsons: Trey and Scott Myer, and Jack and Drew Klauber. He is also survived by five siblings: James Ebert and wife Belinda of Wamego, KS, Thomas Ebert and wife Kay of rural St. George, KS, Hugh Ebert and wife Rae of Tuttle, OK, Sharon Wickstrum and husband Larry of Westmoreland, KS and Alexis Ebert and husband Bill of Rossville, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Wamego, KS. Burial will follow in the St. Bernard Cemetery, Wamego, KS. Pat will lie in-state beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, with a Rosary being recited at 4:00 p.m. followed by a visitation until 5:30 p.m., at the Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego. Memorial contributions may be made to the Westy Community Care Home or the American Cancer Society and left in the care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
