Barbara L. Lintz, 75, of Seneca, KS and formerly a longtime resident of Wamego, KS, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Seneca.
Barbara was born in Abilene, KS on April 3, 1932, the daughter of Eustace and Helen Louise (Jeffcoat) Trivett. She moved to Wamego in 1934 with her family and graduated from Wamego High School in 1950. On June 19, 1950, she married Clarence Lintz, Jr. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wamego. He survives of the home. Barbara and her husband “Jr.” operated the Trivett’s Grocery Store in Wamego for many years before moving to Seneca in 1965, where they owned and operated Big B Thriftway until retiring in 1988.
Barbara was a past-member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wamego. She enjoyed music, playing the piano and clarinet, caring for the birds and animals in her yard, and playing various card games. Mostly, her life revolved around her husband, children and grandchildren. She cherished all of her time with her family.
Survivors also include her children and their spouses; Tim and Chris Lintz of Loveland, Colorado, Cindy Lintz of Phoenix, Arizona, Diann and Gary Honeyman of Laramie, Wyoming, Tom Lintz of Seneca, Kansas; 6 grandchildren, Wyatt, Travis, Cameron, Kevin, Lyndsi, Kelsey; and 4 great-grandchildren, Knesha, Codi, Rylee, and McKenzie.
Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Lintz will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wamego, with burial following in the church cemetery. She will lie in-state beginning at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. with a visitation following until 8:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Bernard’s Church Building Fund or to Nemaha County Home Health and Hospice, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, PO Box 48, 66547.
