Everett Lee Fair, Sr.

Everett Lee Fair, Sr., 91, of Garnett, Kansas formerly of McFarland and Manhattan, Kansas passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at his home. Everett was born March 15, 1921 in Manhattan, Kansas the son of Oliver and Lydia (Spaulding) Fair. He grew up and attended school in Manhattan. On February 4, 1942 Everett married Florence M. Rose, to this union they had four children. She survives of the home. Everett joined the United States Army in 1942. He was in the U. S. Army Air Corp and was sent overseas in June of 1943 and was stationed in England. After the military Everett worked as a cement finisher for both Wes Johnson and R. M. Brail in Manhattan. He also worked as a plant engineer for Manhattan Textile Services. He was an avid fisherman, loving husband and father. Everett is also survived by three daughters: Judith Ann Ahring, of Garnett, Kansas, Wanda Jo Eberwein and husband Ralph of Lexington Park, Maryland and Jayne Lou Falletti and husband Gary of Frontenac, Kansas; one son: Everett Lee Fair, Jr. of Garnett, Kansas; one sister: Twila Lesline and husband Ed of Harlingen, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Robert, Rolland and Lloyd; one granddaughter: Susan and one son in-law: Bob. Funeral services for Everett will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Burial will follow at the McFarland Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Midland Hospice and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
