Donna Due Blackford

Donna Sue Blackford, 72, of Wamego, Kansas passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center in Wamego. Donna was born on October 2, 1940 in Stockton, Missouri, the daughter of Lero Obert and Itress “Fern” (Cassell) O’Conner. She grew up in Stockton graduating from Stockton High School in 1958. Donna moved to Wamego in 1977, coming from Stockton. She worked as a homecare provider and caregiver for SRS for over 35 years before she retired. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed fishing and attending church. She always knew how to make a person laugh and had a great sense of humor. She is survived by her two sons: Jerry Blackford (Karen Harvey) of Wamego, KS and Bob Blackford of Belvue, KS; one daughter: Kathy Blackford (Brian Barry) of Wamego, KS; three brothers: Joe, Jack and David; four sisters: Roseanne, Linda, Lou and Dean; three grandchildren: Cole, Hailey and Gracie and numerous nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Marvin; one infant brother and one infant sister. Cremation has taken affect. Private family services for Donna will be held at a later date.
