John F. Taylor, 89, passed away Saturday March 22, 2008 at Westmoreland Community Care Home.
Born on October 20, 1918 in Louisville, Kansas, he was the son of Leverne (Travis) and Wiley Taylor. John was baptized in the Louisville Methodist Church where he was a member for many years. On April 25, 1940 he married Merribel Wahl in Manhattan, Kansas. On December 9, 2006, his wife preceded him in death after 66 years of marriage.
He is survived by: his son, John W. Taylor of Topeka, KS; his daughters, Carol McGuire of Medicine Lodge, KS and Pat Rogers of Ill; his sisters, Rose Nichols of El Paso TX, and Rita Snapp of Westmoreland, KS; his brothers, Dean Taylor of Westmoreland, KS and Bill Taylor of Mesquite, TX; his ten grandchildren, R.D. and Robert Core, Susan Gordan, Johna Callahan, Steve and Shawn Bolin, Jamie Rucker, Jill McGuire, and John and Heath Rogers; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by a brother Crawford Taylor and a sister Helen Marten.
Graveside Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 26, 2008 at Louisville City Cemetery. A visitation will be Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego.
