James Joseph Naylor,73, of Westmoreland, Kansas passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at Olathe Medical Center of Olathe, Kansas.
James was born December 4, 1939 in Blackhorse, MD, the son of Augustus R. and Florita Belle Roberts Naylor. He attended schools in Blackhorse, MD, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and was stationed in Florida where he remained for many years. He married Virginia Ruth Creech on March 25, 1967 in Plymouth, Florida. She survives of the home.
James mostly worked as a truck driver for many years. He and Virginia moved to Westmoreland from Mississippi six years ago after retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. His greatest enjoyment was driving his truck and seeing almost all of the states.
Survivors include his wife Virginia, of Westmoreland, KS; two sons: Jay B. Naylor of Texas, James Joseph Naylor, II of Lincolnville, KS; one daughter, Virginia Belle Vanderwalker of Meridan, MS; two brothers, Augustus Reed Naylor, Jr., and Bradley Gene Naylor, both of Apopka, FL; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James Lawrence Naylor and a daughter, Jodie Lee Naylor.
Mr. Naylor was cremated. No services are planned at this time. Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, KS is in charge of arrangements.
