Ruby Lucille Yonning Julien Cotton Breymeyer, 87, oldest daughter of Louis George and Agnes Isabelle (Hunholz) Yonning, died April 21, 2013 at the Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center in Wamego, KS.
Ruby was born May 8, 1925, and started life in the Broadrick Community North of Wamego. She attended Broadrick Community School thru the 8th Grade. Ruby married Dean Clifford Julien, November 7, 1944, they divorced on July 15, 1953. She married Andrew Frances “Frank” Cotton on April 19, 1955 and married Clarence Henry “Butz” Breymeyer on May 19, 1973. All husbands preceded her in death.
Ruby was a homemaker, telephone operator for the Wamego Telephone Company for about 10 years; co-owner of Cotton’s Shoe Repair, and worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, Manhattan, KS, until she retired in 1984. Ruby was a member of VFW, Wamego, KS, and the First Presbyterian Church of Wamego and was past deacon of that church.
Ruby is survived by one daughter, Sharon Kay Julien Heine, Silver Lake, KS; one granddaughter, Ramona Ann Rafferty(Pete), Topeka, KS; one grandson, Greg Lynn Heine(Melissa), Wichita, KS; two great grandchildren, Cassandra Ranee Heine and Keenan Alexander Heine; two sisters, Mary Clara Pinick, Wichita, KS, and Vera Beth Clark, Onaga, KS; one brother, Dee Ray Yonning(Mary Jane), Wamego, KS; four sisters-in-law, Faye Yonning, St. Joseph, MO, Marylin Yonning, Topeka, KS, Fern Worthing, Wamego, KS, and Helen Koppenheffer, Wamego, KS; one brother-in-law, Frank Michealis; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Evelyn Yonning; three brothers, James, Earl and George; five brothers-in-law, Jim Pinick, Lawrence Clark, Kenneth Worthing, Verne Fleming and Wilford “Ike” Eichman; and three sisters-in-law, Ruth Eichman, Norma Yonning and Dorie Michealis.
Ruby will lie in state at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, on Wednesday, April 24, from 1:00 pm through 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be at the First Presbyterian Church of Wamego on Thursday, April 25 at 10:30 am. Lunch and family visitation afterwards, followed by burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, KS, next to her beloved husband Frank.
