Margaret Ella Glover, of rural Wamego, Kansas, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Alma Manor in Alma, Kansas.
Margaret was born on August 5, 1927 in Deaf County, Texas, the daughter of Alfred and Ona Ellison. She grew up in Texas, before moving to Geneva, Nebraska and graduating from Geneva High School. After high school Margaret moved to Topeka, Kansas, where she began working for several years as a Nurse Aide and at Walgreens. She later met Robert K. Glover, while out square dancing one evening and they were later united in marriage on January 17, 1961. After their marriage Margaret and Robert moved to his family farm between Wamego and Alma. Margaret kept busy raising her children and being a homemaker on the family farm until 1996, before moving to the Alma Manor. She enjoyed square dancing, going for walks, and doing embroidery and was a member of the Willing Workers of Wabaunsee, KS.
Margaret is survived by her three sons: John Glover of Topeka, KS and Warren and Larry Glover, both of Alma, KS; her daughter: Ruth Buchanan and husband Brad of Topeka, KS; two sisters: Mary Jane Ellison and Helen Palmateer, both of Inola, Oklahoma and four grandchildren: Dylan and Dallas Glover and Jacob and Sarah Buchanan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert in 1999, two brothers, Charlie and George Ellison and her sister, Ona VanDyke.
Funeral services for Margaret will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2013, at the Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego. Burial will follow in the Wabaunsee Township Cemetery. A visitation for Margaret will be held prior to her service beginning at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Beecher Bible and Rifle Church and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
