St. George- Veldon D. Fleming, 77, died at the Topeka Veterans Hospital on June 6, 2008.
Born of January 14, 1931 on the family farm in St. George, he was the son of Earl and Alice (Nordgren) Fleming. Veldon proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged, he came back to St. George, and spent most of his time harvesting and with carpentry.
Veldon is survived by: his brother, Verlin Fleming and his wife Mary of St. George, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Virgil, Vincent, and Verne and one sister Venus.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held at St. George Cemetery on Wednesday June 11, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be prior to service time starting at 9:30 a.m. at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego.
