Willie Paul Hall, 67, of rural St. George, KS, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Westy Community Care Home, Westmoreland, KS. He was born on January 11, 1947 in Amazonia, MO, the son of C.B. and Ila (Mann) Hall. He attended school in Savannah, MO and then served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 thru 1969 followed by the Naval Reserves until 1971. Willie Paul married Carolyn “Jo” Barker on November 25, 1971 in Savannah, MO. She survives of the home. Following their marriage, they moved to Manhattan, KS where he worked for the Farmers CO-OP, before moving back to Branson, Missouri and working at the Cascade Inn in the maintenance department. Willie Paul and Jo returned to the St. George area in 2007. He worked at the Manhattan Super-8 Motel in maintenance, before retiring due to health reasons. Willie Paul enjoyed doing anything outdoors. He enjoyed going camping, hunting and fishing, and working in the yard. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends and K-State football games. He was an avid collector of knives and also Budweiser memorabilia. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn “Jo” Hall, of Wamego, KS; two sisters-in-law: Donna Hall, of Wamego, KS and Joy Clark, Manhattan, KS; nieces and nephews: Lisa Marks (Dan), Kansas City, MO, Lori Hatfield (Tim), Wamego, KS, Jodie Dodge, Wamego, KS, Scott Hall, Kansas City, MO, Brian Hall (Megan), Wamego, KS; and Bill Bennett, Eddie Clark and Lonnie Clark and their families and numerous great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clarence “David” Hall in 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 24th at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Burial will follow at Wamego City Cemetery. Willie Paul will lie in-state beginning at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, with a visitation from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Stewart Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Willie Paul Hall Memorial Fund, to be designated later, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
