Topeka- Helen Agnes Rose Marshall Kilian died August 30, 2008 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born November 3, 1918 in Mayetta, Kansas. She was the daughter of Thomas R. and Agnes Bagley Marshall. She graduated from Mayetta High School in 1936. She was employed by Jones Grocery Store in Mayetta. Later she worked for Security Benefit Association in Topeka. She was married to Fred Kilian August 22, 1964 until his death July 13, 2003. In her youth, Helen Kilian was a constant helpmeet to her family. She was active in the Legion of Mary in Topeka and Wamego, helped deliver Meals on Wheels in Pottawatomie County, and was a busy homemaker in Wabaunsee, Kansas for 39 years. In 2003 she moved to 4200 Drury Place, Topeka, where she lived the last 5 years.
Survivors include a brother Richard J. Marshall of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; step-children William, Joseph, Anthony, Timothy Kilian and Mary Landis; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Thomas W. Marshall, and Charles E. Marshall, and five sisters: Mildred Neft, Alice Wamego, Margaret Sanderson, Vera Hudson and Gertrude Robinson.
A Eulogy Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday September 3 at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego with burial following in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery. A rosary will be said Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Midland Hospice Center or Meals on Wheels-Pottawatomie County Chapter.
