Robert Glen Cox, 80, of Westmoreland, KS passed away Monday, August 25, 2014 at Westy Community Care Home in Westmorland. He was born on March 1, 1934 in Corning, KS, the son of Terrance and Wilma (Ward) Cox. After he attended Seaman High School, he was united in marriage with Mary “Kathyrn” Browning on June 15, 1955 in Topeka. He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #902 out of Flush with St. Joseph Catholic Church, active in 4-H, loved to wood work, play cards, go to his children’s and grandchildren’s events, and to square dance with Kathyrn. Robert was a man that met you with a smile and a firm handshake and didn’t know a stranger. He was survived by his wife Kathryn of Westmorland, two sons, Jerry and wife Kandie of Wamego, and Jim and wife Jane of Wamego, two daughters, Susie Rouse and husband Dan of Meriden, KS, and Sara Brummett and husband Brian of Westmorland, three brothers, Ray and Terry of Topeka and Charles of Fairview, a sister, Maxine Byler of Topeka, 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, with burial following at the St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials go to the Westy Community Care Home Alzheimer’s Wing and maybe be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS, 66547.
