Kevin Dea Ault, 54, of Wamego, Kansas, died September 19, 2008 at the Wamego City Hospital. He was born July 6, 1954 in Onaga, Kansas, the son of Edgar and Waunita (Schwandt) Ault. He was a lifetime resident of the Wamego community. He graduated from Wamego High School, class of 1974. Kevin worked on the family farm until 1985, when he moved to Wamego and began working for the City Parks Department. He took great pride in his job and continued working for the city until his death. He was baptized at the Laclede Baptist Church and was a current member of the First Baptist Church of Wamego where he sang in the choir and served as a deacon. He was member of the Messiah Flint Hills Chorus and loved singing in the yearly performance. He was the vice-president of the Wamego Alumni Association and a member of the National Arborist Society. Kevin was a patriot as well as an avid sports fan, supporting all area teams, especially the K-State Wildcats as a season ticket holder. Most of all, he loved his family, caring for his mother since the death of his father, enjoying family time with his sisters and brother, and giving special attention to his nieces and nephews. He especially enjoyed the new grand-nieces and nephews being born in to the family. Kevin is survived by his mother, Waunita Ault of Wamego; three sisters, Mary Schulz of Holton, KS, Linda Stamper and husband Larry of Plainville, KS, Sue Yocum and husband Ron of Alma, KS; a brother, Bruce Ault and wife Teresa of Wamego; an aunt, Gale Krietemeyer of Topeka, KS; 11 nieces and nephews, Michael Stamper and Liz, Eric Schulz and Jill, Chris Ault and Sabrina Ritter, James Stamper and Lyndsey, Bryan Ault and Amy, Mark Stamper and Lindsay, Brad Yocum and Dana, Jenny Yocum and Ryan Trudo, Katie Mitchell and Monte, Richelle Rumford and Mike, Amanda Ault and 9 grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Ault, one nephew and one grand nephew. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Wamego. Burial will follow in the Wamego City Cemetery. He will lie in-state beginning at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, where a visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Wamego or to the Wamego Friends of the Park and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, P.O.
