Topeka- Naomi Irene Diepenbrock, 78, formerly of Alma, passed away peacefully on October 20th, 2008 at Plaza West Regional Health Center in Topeka.
Born on August 4, 1930 on the family farm southeast of Alma, she was the daughter of August H. and Anna (Berges) Zeckser. She attended St. John Lutheran School and later graduated from Alma High School. After high school she attended Clark’s Business School in Topeka. She then married Earl Diepenbrock of Alma on October 23, 1949. Naomi was the Wabaunsee County Farm Bureau Secretary for 31 years. She was a past member of St. John Lutheran Church of Alma, and a current member of Faith Lutheran Church in Topeka.
Survivors include: her husband Earl of Topeka, KS; her son, Jerald L. “Jerry” Diepenbrock of Austin, TX; her daughter Diane J. Rinkenbaugh and husband John of Coffeyville, KS; her grandchildren J. Ryan Diepenbrock of Austin, TX, David L. Diepenbrock of Phoenix, AZ, Joshua A. Rinkenbaugh of Joplin, MO, Anna M. Ramirez of Eudora, KS, Michael J. Rinkenbaugh of Wichita, KS, Matthew D. Rinkenbaugh of Manhattan, KS and Sarah E. Rinkenbaugh of Coffeyville, KS; and her great grandson, Ayden P. Ramirez. In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her three brothers and one sister.
Funeral Services will be Friday October 24th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma with burial following in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at Stewart Funeral Home in Alma from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Naomi will lie in state at the funeral home starting at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
