St. George- Amy C. Hodges, 51, died November 24, 2008 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. Born on June 3, 1957 in Abilene, Kansas she was the daughter of Mervin Lee and Cecilia Ann (Zey) Sexton. She graduated from Lucky High School in Abilene in 1975 and later attended Crums Beauty School. On April 30, 1984 she married Russell “Butch” Hodges in Reno, Nevada. Amy was a past member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She was a loving mother and a good friend to many. She liked to ride motorcycles and four wheelers. Amy loved her pets and gardening but most of all loved spending time with her family. Her survivors include: her parents Mervin and Cecilia Sexton of Manhattan, KS; her husband Russell “Butch” Hodges of St. George, KS; her sons, Russell “Miles” Hodges and his wife Lela of St. George, KS and Keefe Hodges of St. George, KS; her brother, Mark Sexton of Manhattan, KS; her sisters, Jarda Fitzwater and her husband Bruce of Derby, KS, Christine Anderson of Manhattan, KS and Jill Ross of Manhattan, KS; her granddaughter Parisa Hodges; and several nieces and nephews. Amy was preceded in death by her son Joshua. A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan. The Rosary will be said Friday evening November 28th at 7:00 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego. Visitation will follow until 8:30 p.m. Memorials are designated for The Amy Hodges Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the funeral home P.O. Box 48, Wamego, 66547.
