Walter Raymond Massey, 93, was born on August 24, 1921, at Alta Vista, Kansas, the son of Benjamin Massey and Florence Nelson Massey. He passed away March 7, 2015.
Walt and Hazel (Hafenstein) Massey were married on November 25, 1954, in St. George, Kansas. They enjoyed many years of fishing. Walter served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II receiving an Honorable Discharge, and then returned to his home in Manhattan, Kansas. Walt worked many years as a plasterer in Kansas, Colorado and Iowa. Later he moved to Lawrence, Kansas, and was the manager of the Kaw Valley Fish Farm until he retired. Walt and Hazel had many nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with all of them.
Walt is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers – Lee, Red and Frank.
