Phyllis Maxine Gordon

   Phyllis Maxine Gordon, 80, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the St. Marys Manor.  She had been a longtime resident of the area, and most recently was a resident of Vintage Park at Wamego.      She was born in Kansas City, MO, on January 26, 1928, the daughter of Charley and Rosemary (Forman) Dees, and raised thru her childhood in Springfield and Nevada, MO.  On December 21, 1942, she married Roy Calvin Trudell.  They lived in the Manhattan area for many years until their divorce. He preceded her in death in 1973.  Phyllis then met Paul W. Gordon, whom she married on December 13, 1958.  Paul preceded her in death in 2000.      She was a loving mother and grandmother who very much enjoyed her time spent with her family.      Phyllis is survived by her family: three daughters, Eva Jean Gaston, of Greensboro, NC, Doris Elaine Morris, of Wamego, KS, Phyllis Rae Trudell, of St. George, KS; one son, Roy Steven Trudell, of Eldon, MO; two step-daughters, Sandy Williamson, of Manhattan, KS, Nina Walsh, of Wamego, KS; two step-sons, Thayne Gordon, of Omaha, NE, Gary Gordon, of Manhattan, KS; 6 grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 17 step-great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by her brother Ray Dees-Stevenson, a great-grandson and 2 step-grandsons.    Graveside services for Mrs. Gordon will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2008 at St. George Cemetery.  The family will great friends at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego beginning at 10:30 a.m., Monday, until leaving in procession for the service.  Memorials are suggested to the Wamego Public Library, and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, PO Box 48, 66547.
