Victor “Earl” Vanover, Sr., 68, Wamego, passed away March 14, 2015 at his home.
Earl was born December 8, 1947 in Mountain City, Tennessee to David Ambrose and Ellaree Vanover. He was a career military member in the U.S. Army. In 1988, Earl was united in marriage with Chong Suk. Chong preceded him in death on August 10, 2011. He loved to be in the outdoors and hunt, fish, and camp. He especially loved spending time with his family. Earl also liked listening to country music and never knew a stranger.
He was survived by a son: Victor Vanover, Jr. (Margaret), Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren: Anjel Vanover, Felica Vanover, Veronica Vanover, and Javier Vanover, all of Colorado Springs; two sisters: Caroline Davis (Howard), Creston, NC, and Debbie Vanover, Mountain City, TN; six brothers: Arville Vanover, James Vanover, Dayton Vanover (Carol), all of Mountain City, TN, Kenneth Vanover (Teresa), Elizabethton, TN, Johny Vanover (Teresa), Johnson City, TN, and David Vanover (Susan), Fowler, KS; a sister in-law: Anna Vanover, Salina; his best friend: Carol Clouse, Wamego; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Anjul Vanover; and a brother: Loyd Vanover.
A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Victor Vanover Memorial Fund and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
