Rose Marie Henningsen

Rose Marie Henningsen, 76, Belvue, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at Homecare & Hospice of Manhattan. Rose was born on February 16, 1939 in Topeka, Kansas to Earl and Sylvia (Henkel) Williams. She was raised in Alma where she graduated high school. She was united in marriage with Paul Wayne “P.W.” Henningsen in 1958 at the Wamego Methodist Church. She was very active leader in the Vermillion 4-H Club, the Red Hat Society, and EHU (Extension Homemaker Units, now known as Kansas Association for Family and Community Education). She also was an active member of the Belvue Methodist Church where she helped with Noah’s Neighbors. She was survived by her husband, three daughters: Julie Henningsen, Guthrie, OK, Jo Logan (Jay), Horton, KS, and Janet Brown (Eric), Belvue; and four grandchildren: Scott Logan, Aaron Logan, Jacob Brown, and Colton Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Janice Williams. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Belvue United Methodist Church. Rose will lie in-state beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015 with the family accepting friends during the visitation from 6:00p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Wamego Library and the Belvue United Methodist Church and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
