Carl Brase

Carl Brase, 82, passed away December 20, 2008 at his residence in Wamego. He was born August 1, 1926 the son of Ed and Margaret (Pageler) Brase. On August 24, 1947, he married Amanda Meyer, she survives in Alma, Kansas. Carl worked for several years at the Bit O Gold/ Alma Cheese Factory in Wamego. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in McFarland and was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church in Alma. He is survived by: his wife, Amanda of Alma, KS; his sons, Edward Brase of Westmoreland, KS and Donald Brase and his wife June of Wamego, KS; his brother, Ray Brase and his wife Carol of Wamego, KS; his sisters, Edna Litki of Alma, KS and Alice Morford and her husband Art of Topeka, KS; his grandchildren, Brenda, Amy, Paul, Sherri and Daniel; and his great grandchildren, Claudia, Jonathon, Brandon, Ryan, Brady, Kalley and Danika. Carl was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Waters. Funeral Services will be Wednesday December 24th at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Wamego with burial following in Alma City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego, he will lie in state starting at 2:00 p.m. A memorial has been established in Carl’s name for Mt.
