Conway, Ark.- Nellie E. Bairow Green Kinzy, 89, passed away on December 26, 2008 at St. Andrews Place in Conway, AR.
She was born March 23, 1919 at home close to Westmoreland, KS, the daughter of Charles and Libbie (Simon) Bairow.
She was married to Dale Green in 1938 in Laclede. He died in April of 1959. She married Frank Kinzy in 1971 in Topeka. He died in December of 1994. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Dale Green, and her brother, Dale Bairow, of Wamego.
Nellie was head cook at the Wamego Rural High School from 1959 to 1967. She was a secretary at the Wabaunsee County Extension Service from 1967 to 1972. She was a long time member of the Wabaunsee Willing Workers and the Extension Homemakers. She also served as the Wabaunsee 4-H sewing leader. Nellie was a member of the Beecher Bible & Rifle Church in Wabaunsee and the Eskridge Methodist Church.
Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara (Glenn) Schenk of Greenbrier, AR and Marilyn (Harry) Harnish of West Fork, AR; five granddaughters, Linda (Doug) Weatherford of Dumas, AR, Laura (Todd) Lock of Greenbrier, AR, Leslie (Ray) Doss of Cabot, AR, Makelle Alexander of Lawrence, and Malindi (Sean) Alexander-Stacey of Baldwin City; nine great grandchildren of Kansas and Arkansas; and her sister, Opal Mae Akin of Manhattan.
Funeral services are Tuesday December 30, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Stewart Fuenral Home in Wamego. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. that morning until service time. Burial will be in the Wamego City Cemetery.
