Stephani Roeder, 67, of Topeka, KS and formerly of Wamego, KS, passed away May 7th at her home following a short illness.
She was born September 5, 1947 in Topeka, KS, the daughter of Gordon R. and Betty Sisson Bryan. She attended Topeka schools and graduated from Seaman High School in 1965. She was united in marriage to Darrel R. Roeder on March 23, 1985. They moved to Wamego from Topeka in 1985 and then moved back to Topeka in 2007.
While living in Wamego, she worked at the Wamego Drug Store helping customers from 1993 until 2007. After moving to Topeka, she ran the Briggs Auto Group KIA Café until retiring in 2013. She was a past member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wamego, and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Topeka.
Stephani enjoyed going to craft and art shows in the city park, decorating her home for the seasons and holidays, playing cards, and making many friends over the years. Her enjoyment from being with her children and grandchildren was the highlight of her life.
Survivors include: her husband, Darrel, of Topeka; one daughter, Heather Weingartner of Topeka, KS; two sons: Bryan Merritt (Marcy) of Alma, KS; David Lytle (Roxie) of Lawrence, KS; and five grandchildren: Kyler, Kourtney, Keegan, Tyler, and Charlie. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Stephani’s wishes were to be cremated. A Rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, with family greeting friends following the Rosary until 5:00 p.m. A private burial in Wamego City Cemetery will be held Monday, May 18th.
