Ernest “Dean” Ubel 86, North of Wamego, Ks. passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House of Manhattan.
Dean was born November 28, 1928 on the family homestead to Jacob Ubel Sr. and Agnes Maurine (McProud). He attended Greenwood Country School and Wamego High School. Dean served as a Corporal for two years in the United States Army. He was a farmer and cattle stockman until he retired and moved to the Westmoreland Care Home.
Survivors include a brother Don Ubel of Dodge City, KS; and two sister in-laws: Marlene Ubel, St. Louis, MO, and Olive Ubel, Topeka, KS.
He was preceded in death by five siblings: Leora Jenkins, Doris M. Ubel, Lawrence Ubel, Jacob Ubel Jr. and Jerry Ubel.
Graveside services for Mr. Ubel will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Wamego City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., prior to graveside service. Memorials are suggested to The Good Shepherd Hospice House of Manhattan and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, Ks. 66547.
