Jerrel Lee Keys, 74, St. George, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.
On October 11, 1940, Jerrel was born to Delbert and Ellen (Grandstaff) Keys in Chandler, OK. He graduated high school in 1959 from Canon City High School in Canon City, CO. Jerrel owned “Keys Roofing” for several years until he retired in 1989. Jerrel loved spending time with his family, no matter what the event. He enjoyed planting flowers and vegetables in his gardens, and drinking coffee in the mornings with his friends at the Sale Barn Cafe in Manhattan.
He is survived by son: Russell (Lani) Keys, St. George; a daughter: LaDonna (Bill) Andritsch, Paxico; two brothers: Ferrel (Bobi) Keys, Rye, CO, and Duane (Gladys) Keys, Pueblo, CO; a sister: Reba (Phil) Larson, Overland Park, KS; four grandchildren: Rebecca Hurla, Renee Andritsch, Kayla Suther, and Brandon Keys; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Visitation will start at 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at the St. George Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to go toward the National Kidney Foundation, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
