Bernadene R. Harter

Bernadene R. Harter, 88, a lifetime resident of Wamego, KS, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Valley Vista Good Samaritan Center of Wamego. Bernadene was born on March 29, 1920 in Wamego, the daughter of Howard H. and Rosa (Kuhn) Wyatt. She married Arlie D. Henry, they later divorced. She married Wayne S. “Bing” Harter in Wamego on March 19, 1965. He preceded her in death in 1978. She was also preceded in death by her only child, Shirley Elaine Ebert, on January 2, 1978. She worked for a few years in the 1950’s as a waitress in a local Wamego café, but was mostly a homemaker and mother. She is survived by several nieces. She enjoyed helping her parents on the farm and especially loved taking care of the animals. Funeral services for Mrs. Harter will be held graveside at the Wamego City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2009. Family and friends will gather at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego beginning at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday for a visitation, until leaving in procession to the cemetery.
