Frank “John” Anneberg, Jr., 69, Manhattan, KS passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Via Christ Hospital in Manhattan, KS.
On August 29, 1945 John was born to Frank and Nella (Corwin) Anneberg, Sr. in Durham, NC. At the age of 3, John and his family moved to Manhattan, KS. He attended Manhattan High School and graduated in 1964. After serving in the US Navy, he was united in marriage with Joan (Willyard) Anneberg on August 6, 1966 at the First Christian Church in Manhattan. She survives of the home.
For 48 years, John worked each day at the Kansas State Union in the morning work shift, and then at Mercy Regional Health Center in the late afternoon-evening shift. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and going fishing. He was a member of the Manhattan Baptist Church, Odd Fellow Lodge, and the United Commercial Travelers of America. He also enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, and Kansas State Football.
He is also survived by a daughter: Joy Campbell, Manhhattan, KS; a son: Frank Anneberg, Manhattan, KS; three sisters: Vicki (Steve) Cole, Mission, KS, Linda (Mike) Farley, Olathe, KS, and Kathy Huntzinger and husband Joe Sexton, Manhattan, KS; six grandchildren: Dylan Ross, Wamego, KS, Thomas Anneberg, Jayleigh Rein, Cole Anneberg, Isaac Campbell, and Stephanie Campbell, all of Manhattan, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
A Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Manhattan Baptist Church. Inurnment will follow at the St. George Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to the Manhattan Baptist Church, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
